* She sent her regard to her father, Mr. McRae.... in Heaven
some of you probably already know that the legendary british rally driver Colin McRae just passed away last september [link]
this is my tribute to Mcrae's
aswell as a contest entry for original character contest : [link]
Ai M. Mcrae (17 years old), Mcrae's daughter (fictive), a rich, spoiled, smart, and a reckless street racer . which mean this character was built not based on any movie or manga . just a fantasy of Mcrae's big fans
all done in Photoshop + Painter X + Tablet in 60 hours...maybe more
thanks for loving her
well, it's not so great coloring if you see it from the original resolution : [link] (cropped) I just don't have much time left for the cleaning job
I work it on a large canvas (4000 pixel wide)
heheh, and now you found out my little secret, i believe you can do it too
Excellent work! Your effort sure shows. You finished with minutes to spare, but I don't know if you were the last. I think there were others cutting it closer. I submited with a mere 2 hours to spare, so, I was thankful.
Tribute work deserves a nod. To our dead heros!

Heheh, that's close to what I do. 300 px/inch on a massive canvas. I shink it when it's done, and ta-da! Cleanliness looking. Of course, there's only two of my big pieces I've done that with. I only recently got a computer that won't spit and die when I crank up the heat on PS.

Ha, nice.
I've been making my canvases larger lately, because I know that works great, but I just haven't been making it big enough.
I have some little kid thought that that's too big or something. xD
Thanks.
that's exactly my thought. think how the background object has become way too flashy catchy, the character's appeal really stands behind. so i guess the car itself has become a huge pitfall for the judgement. but still, I can't bear the thought of having the evo's butt being sliced and cropped

but knowing how you liked the car "too much" this would mean a downfall for a character's charm competition
thank you, and good luck to you too
